Fashion Collective Portland is a nonprofit organization since 2014. Its mission is to expedite the development of Portland’s fashion industry through the creation of living-wage jobs and long-term infrastructure. Our strategies include unifying and supporting the health of existing companies, fostering the emergence of new ones, and attracting the investment of influential members of our community.
Originally spearheaded by the City Club of Portland, our members’ combined experiences represent expertise in the fields of design, manufacturing, runway production, retail, business, media, law, education, politics and merchandising. We are using the strategies of successfully emerging Oregon industries as models, as well as lessons learned from past efforts to galvanize the region’s fashion sector.
With our 501c3 tax exempt status, established board of experts committed to leadership in the fashion industry, accepting generous donations, and creating a tool to capture metrics necessary to strengthen our work, we have achieved more progress than any organization that precedes us.
We believe in the potential of the Portland, Oregon apparel cluster as a model for quality, relevance, and consciousness in the evolving global fashion industry.
